Coat Drive Underway by Three Police Departments to Benefit Maine Township Residents

In an effort to assist families in Maine Township, the Niles, Park Ridge and Des Plaines Police Departments will participate in the 3rd annual Cops For Coats, providing a drop box for clean, gently worn coats in the lobbies of the police departments until November 12, 2014.

Drop off for the Des Plaines Police Department is 1418 Miner Street. Coats are also being accepted at the Park Ridge Police Department, 200 S. Vine Street, Park Ridge (847-318-5252), and the Niles Police Department, 7000 W. Touhy Avenue (847-588-6500).

Coats collected during the Cops For Coats drive will be distributed to Maine Township residents, 9 AM - 1 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2014, Maine Township Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, Illinois. Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky said, "We are again privileged to participate with the Police Departments from Park Ridge, Niles and Des Plaines in this coat drive. It seems like a simple thing but having a warm coat in winter is critical to many in our area."

"With the holidays approaching many of our residents are thinking about ways we can help others. Cops For Coats provides this opportunity. People may bring gently worn, clean winter coats, that they wish to discard, to the police stations 24 hours a day," Des Plaines Police Officer Michael Heidkamp said.
