Maine Township Sponsors Document Shredding Event

Maine Township will sponsor a document shredding day Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9 AM to noon in the parking lot of the Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. Shredding will be done by Opportunity Secure Data Destruction Company, a division of Glenkirk Enterprises. There is no charge and reservations are not required.

Maine Township residents may bring up to three grocery bags of documents to be shredded and disposed of properly at the event. Please make sure to remove all paper clips, binder clips, and rubber bands. Spiral notebooks and plastic notebooks will not be accepted for shredding. As an added security measure, residents will be able to view shredding as it is done via a monitor that is located on the outside of the truck.

According to Supervisor Carol A. Teschky, proper shredding is a way to fight fraud and combat identity theft which continues to rise. "We are offering this free service to our residents as a safe, secure way to dispose of sensitive documents properly," said Teschky.
