Maine Township Seeks Nominations for Sgt. Karen Lader Memorial Good Citizen's Award
Maine Township has issued a call for nominations for the Sgt. Karen Lader Memorial Good Citizen's Award. The winner, who will be recognized at the Maine Township Annual Town Meeting on April 18, 2017, will receive a plaque and a monetary award.
Sgt. Lader, a Maine Township resident and well-respected member of the Cook County Sheriff's Police for 15 years, went above and beyond to help with Maine Township's Neighborhood Watch program and National Night Out Against Crime. She also worked on Special Olympics and animal rescue. Sgt. Lader lost her life to a courageous battle with cancer on May 15, 2010.
"In an effort to recognize all the value that Sgt. Lader brought to this community, the award will be presented to a resident who has demonstrated strong support and dedication to Maine Township," said Carol Teschky, Maine Township Supervisor. "We are looking for that person who has gone above and beyond in service to others."
You can download a nomination form or call 847-297-2510 for more information. Forms are also available at the Maine Township Town Hall.
