The Township was acknowledged in these multiple categories for the variety of exceptional programs and services that help make the lives of all of residents better, according to Laura J. Morask, Township Supervisor.

"I could not be prouder of all of our township staff, and elected officials past and present who all had a hand in creating, supporting and running such innovative and high quality programming. All of these programs are of great value to our Township community, and to be recognized by the Township Officials of Illinois; the governing body for all Illinois Townships is truly rewarding," said Supervisor Morask. "This year has been truly extraordinary in that we received awards in seven categories—the most we have brought home in recent memory. Singled out from among more than 1,400 townships across Illinois, these staff members, volunteers and programs will be recognized for their service and accomplishments at ceremonies Nov. 14 in Springfield. I am thrilled by all the awards but especially happy for Mary Swanson, our retiring long-time Senior Director for winning four awards from her Department. I could not think of a more fitting retirement honor."

Three awards will be presented by the Illinois Township Association of Senior Citizen Service Committees (ITASCSC). The MaineStreamers Newcomers Presentation will be recognized as an Innovative Senior Program of the Year for helping newcomers feel that they are already part of the MaineStreamer experience.
