MaineStay Youth & Family Services
Psychiatric Services

Psychiatric Services MaineStay, in partnership with The Josselyn Center, now offers affordable and convenient psychiatric services to residents of Maine Township. Available services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, consultation, collaboration, referral, and integration of psychiatric care into each client's overall plan. Clients must be at least 18 years old and Medicaid recipients are welcome.

One in five adults will be diagnosed with mental illness within any given year. Access to psychiatric care is a critical need and can make the difference between functioning and not functioning in society. When Maine Center closed abruptly in 2015, many low-income clients receiving psychiatric care in the Maine Township community were left without access to local services. For low-income clients, it is nearly impossible to find a psychiatrist willing to work with them and those who do typically have to wait many months to obtain an appointment.

In response to this critical shortage, MaineStay Youth & Family Services now provides psychiatric services at our offices at the Maine Township Town Hall in Park Ridge. We are honored to be able to expand our services to include psychiatric care during a time when access to much-needed mental health treatment has been reduced for so many.

Potential clients must be seeking outpatient psychiatric services, demonstrate symptoms likely to be responsive to medication, or demonstrate a need for a psychiatric consultation to address differential diagnostic issues, and experience behavioral symptoms which are distressing. Maine Township residents in need of more intensive psychiatric treatment which cannot be provided in an outpatient setting, or who have a primary chemical dependence or eating disorder diagnosis are not candidates for this program.

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation will be completed and includes an interview with the client and an interview with family members or significant others if appropriate. The client's medical history will be reviewed to ensure all medical considerations are taken into account in determining diagnosis and treatment. Prior psychiatric evaluations, family assessment, psychological testing, review of past treatment and outside records may be used to provide clarity to the diagnostic understanding of the individual.

If you have questions or are interested in starting the intake process, please contact Anna Lydka at or 847-297-2510 x258.
